About Worldcoin WLD

Worldcoin is a decentralized open source protocol supported by a global community of developers, economists and technologists committed to expanding participation in, and access to, the global digital economy. By creating a public utility, ownership will belong to everyone who has a verified World ID. The Worldcoin Foundation is the initial steward of the protocol, and will support and grow the Worldcoin community until it becomes self-sufficient. When the Worldcoin token launches there will be a fixed supply of 8 billion tokens available to the community while another 1 billion will be used to fund the Worldcoin protocol over time, including developer grants, and the remaining 1 billion will be available to contributors of the protocol, Tools for Humanity and its related investors.
